    Excellent staff, homey but costly

I love the staff - they're excellent, very nice, and truly go the extra mile; I was treated like royalty, the food is very good, and physical/occupational therapy really helped. The grounds and bingo are pleasant and it feels home-like, so I'd recommend it. Biggest downsides: my shared room was tiny, the cost is extremely high, there aren't enough common tables/areas, the back gate is locked/unusable, and I had belongings go missing or be used by other residents.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive regarding the quality of care and the attitude of staff at Atoka Manor Inc, while clearly flagging several operational and facility-related concerns. Multiple reviewers emphasize that personnel are very nice, compassionate, and often go above and beyond for both patients and families. Phrases like "treated like royalty," "goes the extra mile," and "love this place" indicate that the interpersonal side of care — bedside manner, attentiveness, and emotional support — is a consistent strength.

Clinical and rehabilitative services are also highlighted positively. Reviewers specifically note effective physical and occupational therapy, which suggests the facility is performing well in rehabilitation and recovery-focused care. This, combined with the overall comment that staff "care for patients" and the description of a "home-like environment," points to a setting that supports both medical needs and comfort for residents.

Food and activities receive favorable mention as well. "Very good food" appears as a repeated compliment, and activities such as bingo and use of a nice outdoor area are cited as positive aspects of daily life at the facility. These comments suggest that mealtimes and recreational offerings are meaningful contributors to residents' quality of life. However, while activities are present, there are also complaints about limited entertaining tables and communal areas, which may constrain social interaction and activity variety during busier times.

The most significant concerns are practical and operational. Several reviewers cite tiny shared rooms, which indicates cramped living conditions for residents in shared accommodations. Price is another recurring issue: reviewers describe the facility as "extremely high" in cost, signaling affordability concerns or perceived value-for-money issues. Security and property management problems are noted as well — reports of missing belongings and items being used by other patients point to lapses in safeguarding residents' personal property and possible shortcomings in labeling, storage, or staff oversight. The mention of a back gate being locked or unusable raises access and safety questions, affecting residents' ability to use outdoor space or impacting emergency egress.

Taken together, the pattern is clear: Atoka Manor Inc is widely praised for its compassionate staff, strong rehabilitative therapy, good food, and a homelike atmosphere with recreational options. At the same time, potential residents and families should be aware of trade-offs including small shared rooms, high cost, limited communal spaces, concerns about personal property security, and at least one issue with outdoor access. These operational issues do not appear to negate the facility's strengths in care and staff quality, but they are important considerations for families prioritizing space, privacy, property security, and cost. Management attention to room size/assignment, communal space availability, property safeguards (secure storage/labeling and staff protocols), and gate/access functionality would address the primary negative themes raised in these reviews.
