Grandvue Medical Care Facility has a long-standing history of serving the Northern Michigan community for over 135 years. What began as a working farm in 1898 has transformed over the years into a comprehensive medical care facility, providing 24-hour skilled nursing care. The facility has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of its residents, from adding specialized memory care units in 1997 to expanding and renovating the facility in 2005.
One of the unique features of Grandvue Medical Care Facility is the Grandvue Terrace and Recreation Park, which provides residents with outdoor spaces to enjoy. This area includes a picnic pavilion, accessible gardens, and walking paths for residents to explore and engage with nature. In 2016, the Grandvue Greenhouse was opened, providing a therapeutic and rewarding activity for residents to participate in.
As a county-owned facility, Grandvue is owned by Charlevoix County and overseen by the Charlevoix County Department of Health and Human Services Board. The facility is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment that respects each resident's individuality and personal choices. With a focus on skilled nursing care and a commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life, Grandvue Medical Care Facility strives to create a warm and compassionate home for all who reside there.
