    Warm attentive staff, lively community

I live here and am very happy - the staff are warm, attentive, and know residents by name, and the community truly feels like family. There are abundant activities (exercise, crafts, Happy Hour, trips, games, clubs) and a lively atmosphere that keeps me engaged. The building is clean, attractive, and my apartment is roomy with a handy in-room kitchen; dining is generally very good (homemade soups/scones, chef-prepared meals), though food quality and server staffing can be inconsistent at times. Move-in was smooth, staff go above and beyond with personalized communication and coordination, and I'd recommend it - just be aware it's not inexpensive and fees can rise.

    About Brookdale Franklin

Brookdale Franklin serves adults aged 55 and over and has a mix of independent living, assisted living, memory care, home care services, nursing and rehab, adult day care, and respite care available, and with apartments ranging from studios to spacious two-bedroom, two-bath units with full kitchens and bright living rooms, folks can pick single rooms or semi-private apartments, and some have been re-carpeted and freshly painted, so things feel neat and looked after, with touches like arched windows, patterned curtains, wood-toned floors, plants, paisley comforters, and wood and granite kitchens, and the whole place feels homelike and a bit fancy. Residents will see helpful staff at the 24-hour front desk, and everyone gets daily help with chores like cooking and cleaning, while those who want to hire extra help for daily living tasks have that option too, plus nursing, therapy, and memory programs for those with different needs, and there's always a nurse on call, while homecare aides can offer companionship for people who want to age in place but need a little support. The building includes organized social, educational, and entertaining activities, a dedicated activity room, daily scheduled events, special outings, devotional services, and game rooms with tables and shelves for puzzles, board games, and books, and there's also a theater room with 30 seats and a popcorn machine where movie nights and concerts happen. There's a piano in one of the common rooms that gets played, warm living rooms, big courtyards, covered patios with rocking chairs, planters, and lots of natural light, plus a library for reading, a community kitchen for get-togethers, a concierge desk, and a beauty/barber shop on-site, offering full salon and pampering services with comfortable chairs, a waiting area, hair dryers, and shampoo stations. Pets are welcome, and there are rules about no smoking indoors, and both men and women are accepted except for a few settings where there are gender-specific rooms. Meals get served restaurant-style in dining rooms set with white tablecloths and green menus, and there are kosher and vegetarian options made by chefs and meal planners who focus on nutritious and enjoyable food, and whenever folks need to get out, complimentary transportation heads to shopping trips, doctor appointments, or outings to nearby stores like Walmart and Kroger, and staff help organize group recreational trips too. Residents pay by check or credit card, and the community takes long-term care insurance, plus it helps with veteran benefits for those who served. Brookdale Franklin puts a big focus on letting people keep their independence as much as possible, offering structured programs but giving folks choices in how they want to spend their days, set in pretty grounds with mature landscaping and well-kept courtyards. Safety stays a big priority, as the building uses an emergency alert system and keeps staff accessible at all hours. There's Wi-Fi and high-speed internet available, plus parking for those who still drive, and the whole campus is handicap-accessible. Positive reviews point out a welcoming culture, helpful staff, and lots of chances for making friends, with both quiet spaces and social rooms, and the community's been recognized for its good activities and friendly staff, all part of the larger Brookdale network that has a long history in senior care and makes sure every location, including this one, meets licensing and quality standards. Given all this, many find life at Brookdale Franklin relaxed, well-supported, and filled with opportunities for both peaceful time alone and staying connected with others.

    About Brookdale

Brookdale Franklin is managed by Brookdale.

Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (NYSE: BKD) is the largest senior living operator in the United States, managing over 640 communities with capacity for approximately 59,000 residents across 41 states and employing around 36,000 associates. Founded in 1978 and publicly traded since 2005, Brookdale solidified its market leadership through major acquisitions including American Retirement Corporation (2006) and Emeritus Senior Living (2014), making it the only national full-spectrum senior living company. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, Brookdale has topped the American Seniors Housing Association's ASHA 50 list and Argentum's largest providers list for multiple consecutive years.

The company's comprehensive care continuum includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Brookdale's signature Clare Bridge program, developed over 30 years ago by dementia-care experts, provides specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care through two distinct levels: Clare Bridge communities for comprehensive memory support and the Clare Bridge Solace program for advanced-stage dementia residents. The program is recognized by the Alzheimer's Association® for incorporating evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and features secure environments, enclosed courtyards, Daily Path programming with six structured activities daily, and the InTouch technology platform offering personalized brain-stimulating games and therapeutic content.

Brookdale's holistic Optimum Life® wellness approach balances six dimensions—Purposeful, Physical, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, and Intellectual—implemented through signature programs including B-Fit (eight exercise class options), Brain Fit (mental fitness workouts), My Life Story (resident storytelling), EngagementPlus (interest-based connections), Growing Together (collaborative learning), and The Ageless Spirit (kindness and gratitude practices). The Embrace Family Partnership provides caregiver education and support for families of memory care residents.

The company's Brookdale HealthPlus® care coordination model, winner of the 2024 Argentum Best of the Best Award placing it among the top 1% of operators, is a technology-enabled healthcare service featuring dedicated RN Care Managers who proactively manage residents' health, coordinate care transitions, and help prevent avoidable hospitalizations. Communities using HealthPlus report 78% fewer urgent care visits, 36% fewer hospitalizations, and 63% more completed annual wellness visits. The Personal Solutions program delivers hygiene products, medications, and daily necessities directly to residents' doors with discreet packaging and monthly billing convenience.

Following a strategic divestiture of its home health and hospice operations to HCA Healthcare (completed December 2023), Brookdale now focuses exclusively on senior living operations while maintaining its position as the industry's largest operator, committed to its mission of enriching lives with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity.
