    Pleasant facility; unreliable care, staffing

I moved my parent in after a lovely tour - the place is clean, has pleasant private rooms and grounds, home-style/restaurant meals (chef/dietician), and active programming; many aides were warm and helpful. Initially care felt excellent, but over time I ran into unprofessional staff, poor or inconsistent training, high turnover, and scheduling that was often unresponsive. Safety and clinical oversight became a concern (night understaffing, very slow call-button response, a nurse refusing daily blood-sugar checks), and management communication and billing had problems. It's pricey - good food and friendly caregivers some days, but reliability and medical care can be spotty; I'd advise thorough daytime visits and asking hard questions about staffing and diabetes/memory care before committing.
