    Warm, caring staff; small rooms.

I placed my mom at Rose Place and overall I'm pleased - the staff are warm, caring and attentive, the community is clean, safe and engaging, meals are good and communication eased our stress. My loved one adjusted well and I'd recommend it for respite, dementia or end-of-life care. Caveat: rooms are small and we experienced occasional maintenance, billing and responsiveness issues and some understaffing. Overall 4/5.

    About Rosefield Court

Rosefield Court sits in Port Arthur, Texas, surrounded by lakes, rivers, and woods where residents can relax or spend time outside, and has enclosed courtyards filled with flowers, places to sit, and sometimes holds cookouts, which folks seem to enjoy. People live in spacious studio or one-bedroom apartments, each with kitchenettes, refrigerators, microwaves, walk-in showers with safety features, and controls for heating and cooling, so each place can feel like home and stay comfortable. Every room offers emergency alert systems in the bedrooms and bathrooms, cable and phone hookups, and privacy-room enough for personal keepsakes, with carpeting, window treatments, and even individual mailboxes inside.

Rosefield Court provides assisted living and memory care, offering help for people who have various medical needs or conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia, with medication assistance and tailored help for daily activities like bathing, meals, or getting dressed. There's a registered nurse always on site day and night, keeping an eye on clinical needs and helping with care plans that are adjusted for each resident, and the staff is known for being kind, often joking around, remembering birthdays, and going the extra mile to make folks feel special. For safety, there are wanderguard systems in place and all areas can be used by those with walkers or wheelchairs.

Housekeeping and laundry get taken care of weekly as part of the rent, and residents don't need to worry about maintenance either, which is good for peace of mind. When it comes to activities, there's always something to do, whether it's games, sing-alongs, crafts, live music, card games like bingo or bridge, or trips out to local malls or senior centers on the community's scheduled transportation. The TV lounge lets groups watch sports or movies, a fireplace makes a nice reading spot, and there's a computer room and library for anyone who likes to keep busy without going far. The courtyards and gardens make for quiet spots outside, and pets are welcome, even having a secured dog park. There's also a salon and barber shop onsite, and guest rooms may be available for visiting family.

Rosefield Court has comforts and health needs in mind, with compassionate care in a friendly environment, and takes pride in supporting both independent seniors and those who need extra daily help. The focus stays on being a close community, where people can feel secure, keep active, stay connected with others, and enjoy everyday comforts without fuss.

    About Enlivant

Enlivant, founded in 1981 and formerly headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, was a pioneering senior living provider that operated over 200 communities across the United States before transitioning management to new operators in September 2023. Previously known as Assisted Living Concepts, the company rebranded as Enlivant as part of a strategic repositioning that included relocating its headquarters from Wisconsin to Chicago. Under the decade-long leadership of CEO Dan Guill, Enlivant served thousands of seniors with a team of more than 7,000 dedicated caregivers. The company offered a comprehensive range of senior care services including assisted living, independent living, memory care, and short-term stays. Enlivant's pioneering approach centered on creating supportive, stimulating environments where residents could thrive in mind, body, and soul. Their unique Resident Care Partner program paired each resident with a dedicated caregiver to ensure personalized attention and continuity of care. This person-centered philosophy emphasized building meaningful relationships and fostering vibrant communities where seniors could maintain their independence while receiving necessary support. Enlivant achieved significant industry recognition, becoming the first senior living provider to earn the WELL Health-Safety Rating for its entire portfolio of 215 communities in January 2022. This evidence-based, third-party verified certification validated their comprehensive health and safety protocols, including enhanced cleaning procedures, robust emergency preparedness programs, and successful vaccination initiatives that achieved nearly 95% vaccination rates among employees and residents. The company was also certified as a Great Place to Work for four consecutive years by the Great Place to Work Institute, reflecting their strong culture of respect, camaraderie, and meaningful work. Despite these achievements, including 92 communities being recognized by U.S. News & World Report as 2023-2024 Best Senior Living communities, Enlivant faced insurmountable financial challenges following the COVID-19 pandemic. Citing operational difficulties, occupancy challenges, rising interest rates, and debt service costs, the company ceased operations at the end of 2023. While Enlivant's legacy includes pioneering approaches to senior care and industry-leading safety standards, its communities now operate under new management, continuing to serve seniors across the nation.
