    Warm attentive staff, excellent care

I placed my mom at Windsor Ridge and have been very pleased. The staff are warm, attentive, and go above and beyond - nursing and medication management are excellent and leadership (Brian Bartley, head nurse Bridgett Burchfield) is responsive. Activities are lively and creative (Sepideh and team), the building and grounds are beautiful and homey, and I have real peace of mind. Dining can be inconsistent at times, but overall I highly recommend Windsor Ridge.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Windsor Ridge are overwhelmingly positive and consistently emphasize compassionate, professional, and attentive staff who create a warm, home-like community. The dominant themes are strong relationships between staff and residents, an active and creative activities program, clean and attractive facilities with pleasant outdoor areas, and generally effective clinical care including medication management and on-site therapy. Multiple reviews single out leadership and named staff (for example Brian Bartley and Bridget(t) Burchfield) and repeatedly praise Activities Director Sepideh Abdoli for creating a lively calendar of events.

Care quality and staffing: The majority of reviewers describe caring, skilled nursing and caregiving teams who go above and beyond — supporting family communication, accommodating individualized needs, and providing compassionate end-of-life care. Care practices earn specific praise for medication management, coordination with hospice when needed, and for helping residents maintain independence where appropriate. Many reviews note long-tenured staff and low turnover, which contributes to continuity of care and strong resident relationships. That said, a subset of reviews reports staffing shortages and increased turnover after a change in ownership, and those accounts tie reduced service consistency and some declines in care experience to these staffing changes.

Activities and social life: Windsor Ridge receives strong and frequent praise for its social programming. Reviews highlight a wide variety of daily activities, exercise classes, entertainment, holiday parties, off-campus outings, group devotions, volunteer events, and specialized offerings (music, games, educational opportunities). The Activities Director is repeatedly identified as a major strength, with multiple mentions of creative programming that improves residents' emotional well-being and social engagement. Family involvement and invitation-friendly events are also commonly mentioned, reinforcing the community feel.

Facilities, grounds and amenities: Reviewers frequently describe the physical environment as attractive, clean, and well-kept. Specific positives include a single-level accessible design, roomy and comfortable apartments (many with kitchenettes), a spotlessly maintained interior, well-manicured grounds with walking trails, patio/sunroom areas, cornhole, piano, bird feeders, and ample parking. On-site amenities such as a beauty shop, community dining room with mural, and an on-site driver for errands are noted as convenient comforts that enhance daily life.

Dining and housekeeping: Dining receives mixed but mostly positive feedback. Many reviewers praise three home-cooked meals per day, nutritious offerings, snacks and coffee availability, and staff flexibility to adjust portions and menus for residents' needs. Multiple reviews, however, report concerns about food quality and limited menu variety — including comments about repetitive menus (too much chicken), watered-down soups, and an overall decline in dining quality reported by several families following an ownership transition. Housekeeping and maintenance are commonly commended as outstanding, though a minority of reviews report lapses in housekeeping and cleanliness issues, some of which are associated in reviewers' minds with staffing and ownership changes.

Management, operations and patterns of concern: Historically, Windsor Ridge is described as owner-operated or locally managed with strong on-site leadership and an internal quality improvement program; high state survey scores are cited in some reviews. Many reviews explicitly praise management responsiveness, staff availability (including night responsiveness), and clear communication with families. Notably, a recurring pattern in the reviews is the emergence of concerns after a reported ownership change: several reviewers mention disorganization, staffing shortages, and declines in food and housekeeping tied to that change. These negative reports are fewer than the positive ones but are notable because they appear consistently in a subset of recent reviews and may indicate areas for monitoring.

Safety and special services: Safety, secure access, and COVID response are often flagged positively — several reviews note effective COVID management (including reports of being COVID-free in 2020) balanced against the expected visitation restrictions. On-site clinical supports such as therapy/rehab services and coordination with outside providers are described as helpful and available. Reviewers also appreciate spiritual offerings and diverse worship opportunities.

Net assessment: The dominant impression across the reviews is of a well-run, warm, and active community with engaged staff who provide compassionate, person-centered care. Strengths lie in staff-resident relationships, programming and activities, attractive facilities, and generally reliable clinical care. The principal concerns to watch are reports of declining dining quality and menu variety, occasional housekeeping lapses, and indications of staffing and organizational instability tied to an ownership transition. Those negative trends are present in a minority of reviews but appear repeatedly enough to be a meaningful pattern for prospective residents and families to probe during tours and discussions with management. Overall, most reviewers highly recommend Windsor Ridge and describe it as delivering peace of mind, improved quality of life, and a family-like environment for residents.
