    Ownership change ruined resident care

I moved my parent here and wish I hadn't - after the ownership change everything went downhill: staff and the owner are rude and unprofessional, use foul language, create constant drama, are mean to residents, and cleanliness is poor. Worst place I've seen.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Granite House are overwhelmingly negative, with multiple reviewers reporting poor experiences. While a small number of comments acknowledge that some staff members are "great," the dominant themes are consistent complaints about rudeness, unprofessional conduct, and an unpleasant environment. The cumulative impression from the summaries is that visitors and/or family members perceive the facility as having a strong, persistent problem with staff behavior and management.

Staff quality and resident care: Staff behavior is the central concern. Multiple summaries describe staff as rude, unprofessional, and mean to residents. At least one review specifically mentions staff using foul language, and others reference staff being unprofessional or having foul mouths. Although there are isolated reports of positive interactions ("great staff"), those appear to be the exception rather than the rule. Given the prominence and repetition of complaints about staff demeanor, reviewers imply that day-to-day resident care and the interpersonal atmosphere are substantially affected by the reported behavior. The reviews do not provide detailed, objective measures of clinical care quality, but the repeated descriptions of staff being mean or unprofessional suggest that interpersonal aspects of care are a significant concern.

Management and ownership: A notable pattern is the mention of a negative change following an ownership shift. One summary explicitly states there was a "negative change after ownership shift," and another calls out a "rude owner." These comments indicate reviewers perceive a decline in culture or standards tied to management changes. Management-related concerns are reinforced by repeated references to unprofessional behavior and pervasive drama, suggesting systemic issues rather than isolated incidents. The presence of a rude owner in the feedback points to leadership problems that may be contributing to the facility's overall atmosphere.

Cleanliness, environment, and atmosphere: Cleanliness is directly criticized in at least one summary stating "cleanliness lacking." Several reviews characterize the facility as "not a great environment," "horrible drama," and the "worst place," pointing to a generally unhealthy or unpleasant living environment from the reviewers' perspectives. The combination of alleged poor cleanliness and hostile interpersonal dynamics creates a picture of a facility where comfort, dignity, and a calm atmosphere may be compromised. These environmental concerns appear to be linked with the staff and management problems noted above.

Activities, dining, and facilities: The provided reviews do not mention specifics about dining, activities programming, medical services, or physical amenities. Because those topics are absent from the summaries, no reliable conclusions can be drawn about the quality of food, activities, or clinical services at Granite House based on the available feedback. The lack of mention could indicate that reviewers focused primarily on interpersonal and management issues, or simply that those elements were not salient in their experiences.

Notable patterns and overall assessment: The most frequent and salient themes across the reviews are rude and unprofessional staff behavior, perceived managerial decline after ownership change, poor cleanliness, and an overall hostile or dramatic environment. While there are a few acknowledgements of good staff members, the balance of feedback is negative and suggests systemic cultural and leadership problems. For prospective residents or family members considering Granite House, these patterns point to several red flags: inquire specifically about staff training and turnover, ask for details about recent ownership or management changes and their impact, request a current cleanliness walk-through, and seek direct references from current residents or families. If visiting, pay close attention to staff-resident interactions and ask management how they address complaints about rudeness, profanity, and drama.

Summary conclusion: In short, the reviews paint a picture of a facility with serious interpersonal and managerial issues that appear to be affecting the resident experience. Although some staff receive praise, the recurring and consistent nature of complaints about rudeness, unprofessionalism, a rude owner, cleanliness deficiencies, and a toxic atmosphere means the facility warrants caution and thorough, up-to-date investigation before any placement decisions are made.
