    Rude staff and suspected theft

I lived here briefly and would not recommend it. Only ShayShay was friendly; the rest of the staff were rude, verbally abusive, and even hung up on callers. Management was unhelpful and the owner/boss (Sarah) was not friendly and there was a language barrier. My TV, binoculars and clothes went missing and staff did nothing - I suspect theft. Not suitable for assisted living or long-term psychiatric care; look elsewhere.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the provided reviews is strongly negative, with multiple significant complaints centering on staff behavior, security of residents' belongings, and management responsiveness. While one positive note appears — a staff member named ShayShay is described as friendly — the predominant themes are theft, disrespectful and abusive interactions, and an ineffective management response.

Care quality and resident safety: Reviewers express serious concerns about safety and the appropriateness of Parkwood Manor for individuals needing assisted living or long-term psychiatric care. Specific allegations include theft of personal items (television, binoculars, and clothing), and reviewers explicitly describe the staff as a "thieving crew." Because of these reported incidents, reviewers conclude the facility is not suitable for assisted living or psychiatric patients and advise prospective residents and families to seek alternatives. These are fundamental issues that directly affect residents' well‑being and security.

Staff behavior and interactions: Multiple summaries describe staff as rude and verbally abusive, with complaints that employees hang up on callers. There is a consistent pattern in the reviews of unprofessional and uncaring behavior toward residents and callers. Although one staff member (ShayShay) is singled out as friendly, that appears to be an isolated positive amidst broader complaints about poor staff treatment. The combination of alleged verbal abuse and theft suggests systemic personnel problems rather than isolated incidents.

Management and ownership: Reviewers report that management is unhelpful and dismissive when issues are raised. The boss, identified as Sarah, is noted as having a language barrier ("doesn't speak English"), and reviewers characterize the owner as not friendly. These points are raised in the context of unresponsiveness to serious complaints, which compounds residents' and families' frustration. The reported language barrier and lack of helpful management response are presented as impediments to resolving problems and obtaining satisfactory care.

Facilities, dining, and activities: The review summaries do not provide direct information about the physical facility, dining, medical care specifics, or activities programming. The absence of comments on these topics means there is no evidence from these summaries to evaluate amenities, food quality, recreational offerings, or clinical services. The primary concerns raised relate to interpersonal behavior, theft, and management rather than concrete descriptions of environment or services.

Patterns and reliability of reviews: The recurring and specific nature of the complaints — multiple stolen items listed, repeated descriptors like "thieves," and concrete staff behaviors such as hanging up on callers — indicate that reviewers are reporting consistent negative experiences rather than a single isolated occurrence. The strong language used ("worst assisted living facility," "thieving crew") and explicit advice to look elsewhere point to a high level of dissatisfaction among those who left summaries.

Implications and recommendations for prospective residents/families: Based on the review summaries, prospective residents and their families should exercise caution. Key due diligence actions would include asking the facility about security measures for personal belongings, staff hiring and training procedures, incident reporting and resolution policies, and management responsiveness. It would also be prudent to request references from current residents or families, perform an in-person tour with specific questions about past complaints, and consider other facilities, especially if residents require reliable assisted living or psychiatric care. Reviewers explicitly advised looking elsewhere, and that recommendation should be weighed heavily given the seriousness of alleged issues.

In sum, the supplied reviews paint a picture of a facility with troubling reports of theft, staff misconduct, and inadequate managerial response. While there is a single mention of a friendly staff member, the dominant themes are safety concerns and poor treatment, leading reviewers to recommend against Parkwood Manor for assisted living or long‑term psychiatric needs.
