    Caring staff, clean facility, pricey

I placed a loved one here and overall I'm glad I did - the staff are consistently friendly, caring and knowledgeable, the building is clean, modern and home-like, and rooms are a comfortable size with private baths. Penny, the Director of Activities, runs an outstanding, engaging program (manicures, concerts, bingo, outings) and on-site OT/PT and rehab are real pluses. COVID response felt thoughtful and communication is often timely, with staff frequently going above and beyond. Food is generally good but inconsistent, memory-care expertise is strong for Alzheimer's patients though activity levels and engagement can vary; I'd worry if you need highly active or 24-hour skilled care. It's secure and well-run overall but can be expensive and there are occasional staffing/communication hiccups - still a recommend with those caveats.

    About Downriver Estates Senior Living

Downriver Estates Senior Living gives seniors a comfortable place to live with lots of support and care options, and you'll see the facility has different apartment styles like studio, large studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans, so folks can pick what feels most like home, and there are common spaces like a library, a lobby, model rooms, a dining room, and even community gardens for fresh air and walking around, which helps people stay active. The community has trained medical staff who help with daily activities such as bathing and dressing, along with medication management, and you'll find a licensed nurse on-site at all hours, which means care is always available and someone's always looking out for the residents' safety, and they also help set up care plans that fit each person's needs. People who need memory care get special support for Alzheimer's and other dementias, with locked closets and secure areas in memory care to prevent wandering and to make things safer, plus staff keep routines that match what each person remembers best. Seniors who need a little more help with daily life can get assisted living services, which includes reminders for medicine, help moving around, and support with meals, and there are also independent living choices for those who can still handle most things on their own but want more convenience or community. If someone needs a temporary place to heal up after surgery or injury, respite care gives short stays of dependable attention, whether a few days or a week, so families can take a break or help a loved one recover safely. Residents eat meals prepared with quality ingredients in the dining room, which helps people stay healthy and enjoy their food, and the staff try to make meals tasty as well as nutritious.

There are activities every day that help people make friends and keep their minds sharp, like social programs, exercising, educational classes, and monthly outreach projects that help people feel connected and give them a sense of purpose. The facility has things like physical therapy services, transportation for getting out and about, and devotional services offsite for spiritual support. Residents can use Meta Pay, Meta Store, and Meta Quest, and there's Meta AI to help make things easier, and because the facility is tied to social media like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads, people can keep in touch with family or join community events online through account management features, including logging into Facebook or setting up new accounts for staying connected. For leisure, residents have indoor common areas for games and chats, community gardens, outdoor spaces to enjoy, recreational areas, and scheduled social gatherings, with a homelike environment that feels safe and welcoming. The place just went through renovations, making everything more modern and comfortable, and there's a hands-on Executive Director around, making sure things run smoothly and the staff are easy to talk to if someone needs anything. Downriver Estates Senior Living belongs to the Sinceri Senior Living network, which means it's privately owned and benefits from extra support without feeling too impersonal, and they offer tours for anyone wanting to see what it's like before moving in. With fitness programs, library and recreation options, companion living, housing for folks with memory issues, a resident portal for easy updates, and a focus on both physical and emotional well-being, the facility tries to help each resident feel engaged, comfortable, and safe in a place that feels familiar and friendly. About Sinceri Senior Living

Downriver Estates Senior Living is managed by Sinceri Senior Living.

Sinceri Senior Living is a premier senior living management company founded in 1986 by Jerry Erwin and headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. Originally operating under the name JEA Senior Living, the company has grown substantially over its nearly four decades of operation to become a major player in the senior care industry. Today, Sinceri operates 83 communities across 21 states, serving approximately 5,330 seniors nationwide with a comprehensive range of living options designed to meet diverse care needs and lifestyle preferences.

The company offers three distinct levels of senior care: independent living, assisted living, and specialized memory care through their signature "Meaningful Moments" program. Their assisted living services include 24-hour licensed supervision, medication management, nutritious dining programs, and their exclusive "Elevate" Life Enrichment Program, which addresses four key wellness dimensions - physical, emotional, social, and intellectual aspects. The Meaningful Moments memory care program takes a unique person-centered approach, focusing on each resident's individual history, passions, and interests to create meaningful connections and engagement opportunities for those affected by Alzheimer's and related dementia conditions.

Sinceri's philosophy centers on treating residents like family and fostering genuine bonds between those who live and serve in their communities. Their mission emphasizes honoring the aging process while providing exceptional, person-centered care that empowers residents to maintain their independence and live their best lives regardless of care needs. The company believes that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and opportunities for joy and meaningful experiences, which drives their holistic approach to senior care that goes beyond basic safety and comfort to create truly enriching living environments.

The company has earned significant industry recognition, including certification as a Great Place to Work for seven consecutive years and multiple Forbes honors, including ranking as #78 among America's Best Midsize Employers in 2021 and recognition as one of America's Best Employers by State for Washington. In recent years, Sinceri has experienced substantial growth through strategic partnerships with major healthcare REITs including National Health Investors and Ventas, adding multiple properties in 2024 while maintaining strong operational performance with seven consecutive quarters of NOI growth and achieving pre-pandemic occupancy levels across their stabilized portfolio.
