    Clean modern facility minor concerns

I highly recommend this small, very clean, modern senior living facility - the staff were warm, professional and on duty 24/7, which gave me real peace of mind. The restaurant-like dining was delicious with impressive menus and snacks, rooms were bright and private with sunlit patios/porches, shuttle outings and even pet-friendly options. My only concerns: landscaping needs work, I noticed wet-floor signs/possible fall hazards, and one resident was upset and later moved out.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with frequent praise for the facility's cleanliness, modern feel, dining experience and the staff. Many reviewers highlight the dining room as restaurant-like, mention impressive menus and meal selections, and note that lunches and snacks are appealing enough that guests were invited back for meals. The facility is repeatedly described as clean and well kept, with sunlit, private rooms (and some shared options) and outdoor amenities such as porches, a patio and walking areas. These physical features, combined with services like a shuttle for outings and a pet-friendly policy, contribute to an atmosphere that supports independence and comfort for residents.

Staff and care quality emerge as major strengths in the reviews. Multiple comments use words like friendly, warm, welcoming and professional to describe staff interactions. Reviewers specifically noted around-the-clock staff presence and that residents appear happy and well cared for, providing families with peace of mind. The consistent positive language about personnel — including adjectives such as wonderful and extremely nice — suggests a reliable level of day-to-day caregiving and customer service that stands out across the sample of reviews.

The dining program and hospitality are strong, recurring themes. Several reviews singled out the dining room's ambiance, the variety and quality of menus, and the availability of snacks. One review noted that visitors were invited back to dine, which reinforces the perception that meals are a highlight of the community. These details suggest the facility places emphasis on mealtime experience, both in food quality and dining environment.

There are, however, a few notable concerns and mixed impressions that prospective residents and families should weigh. Safety was raised explicitly: a reviewer reported a hazardous wet floor sign situation and identified fall risk as a reason their relative moved out. Related to fit, one review mentions a grandmother who was upset and reluctant to stay, indicating the community may not suit every personality or care need. The facility is also described as small with few people around by some reviewers; while some may appreciate the quiet, others could find limited social activity or programming as a drawback. Landscaping and grounds maintenance were mentioned as needing improvement in at least one review, suggesting variability in outdoor upkeep.

In summary, the dominant picture is of a clean, modern assisted living community with strong dining, pleasant physical spaces, pet-friendly policies, and staff who are generally warm and professional — factors that give many families peace of mind. The most significant negative signals are isolated but important: an incident involving a safety hazard/fall risk and at least one resident moving out after being unhappy. These issues point to the value of direct follow-up when evaluating the community. Recommended next steps for a prospective resident or family would be an in-person tour (several reviews noted informative tours), specific questions about fall-prevention and safety protocols, inquiry into staffing ratios and 24/7 coverage, a look at current resident social programming and occupancy levels, and verification of grounds maintenance and response procedures for hazards. Taken together, the reviews portray Highland Ridge as a well-regarded, smaller assisted living option with standout dining and staff, but with a few operational areas worth confirming during a visit.

    About Highland Ridge Assisted Living

Highland Ridge Assisted Living sits at 180 Scottie Dr. in Glasgow, Kentucky, and it's a small place that cares for up to six residents, which means things don't get too crowded and people can really get to know each other, and what stands out is the way the caring staff always stay around and help make things easy for the folks living there, with 24-hour help available, so seniors have someone to turn to any time of day or night if they need something, whether that's help with bathing, getting dressed, handling medication, or just a little support with moving around. Residents get to pick from private apartments with their own bathroom or either individual or shared rooms, and furnished areas come with air conditioning, kitchenettes, cable TV, and Wi-Fi, so people can keep comfortable and stay in touch with family or friends. The meal services take food needs seriously, with chefs and meal planners who pay attention to taste and health, and they're able to handle special diets for things like diabetes or high blood pressure, so everyone gets something good to eat that's right for them. People share meals in a dining room with restaurant-style service, and there are always choices for those who need allergy-friendly options.

There are lots of things to do, and the team at Highland Ridge keeps residents busy with movie nights, music programs, pet therapy, tabletop games, arts and crafts, social nights, and even fitness schedules, so that both mind and body get attention, and when folks feel like going outside, they can walk along paths or relax in garden spots. The community tries to make things feel like home by offering game rooms, a library, a book room, outdoor spaces, and areas where people can gather for a coffee or a chat, and then add in a spa, sauna, and a wellness room, and the barber or stylist gives everyone a chance to stay feeling put-together. There's housekeeping, laundry, and even move-in help, which takes a bit of the worry off families, and transportation is available for shopping, doctor's visits, church services, or local community activities.

Healthcare needs get careful attention, with medication management, support for daily living tasks-like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transfers-plus supervision for people with diabetes, those who need help with incontinence, or anyone who can't get around easily. Safety matters too, so there are emergency systems in place and staff always close by, and there's a 24-hour call system, along with nursing staff available 12-16 hours a day. Highland Ridge strives to keep everyone comfortable, healthy, and connected, and there are always wellness programs and chances for social time. Reviews say the staff are helpful, joyful, and kind, which adds to the warm feel and sense of belonging. Everyone benefits from a supportive environment where people come together, and individualized help makes it possible for seniors to stay independent as long as possible while feeling safe and cared for.
