Villa Loretto Nursing Home, located in Mount Calvary, has been a staple in the community for 58 years providing skilled nursing care to its residents. Unfortunately, due to a decreased demand for skilled nursing beds in the area and the aging physical plant of the facility, the decision has been made to close its doors. However, residents will have the opportunity to be relocated to St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac, a state-of-the-art facility with 24-hour nursing care and an inpatient physical rehabilitation unit.
SSM Health, the hospital system overseeing Villa Loretto, is working closely with residents and their families to ensure a smooth transition to their new home. Employees of Villa Loretto have also been given the option to transition to jobs at St. Francis Home or another facility within the organization. The closure of Villa Loretto will only occur once all residents have been successfully relocated, ensuring their continued care and comfort throughout the process.
While Villa Loretto Nursing Home will be closing its doors, the assisted living facilities at Villa Rosa and the petting zoo at Cristo Rey Ranch will remain open for residents and visitors to enjoy. The community surrounding Villa Loretto will see changes as a result of this closure, but the hospital system is dedicated to keeping families informed and involved in the transition process. As the residents of Villa Loretto prepare for this change, they can rest assured that they will continue to receive the same level of care and attention at their new home at St. Francis Home.
