About Otterbein New Albany

Otterbein New Albany is a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in New Albany, Ohio. The community offers a range of services including independent and assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation and therapy. The innovative small house neighborhoods provide personalized attention for skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, and long-term care. The small house model allows residents, referred to as elders, to live in one of five houses with private suites, family meals, and shared living areas.

The New Albany SeniorLife Neighborhood is more than just a nursing home, it's a new and innovative style of nursing care that focuses on personal choices and individualized caregiving. Each home in the neighborhood features 12 private rooms with private baths, a communal kitchen and living room, and a secure backyard patio. Elders at Otterbein New Albany have access to 24-hour care from a small team of licensed nurses, nursing assistants, and therapists, ensuring they receive the support they need.

The community is located just minutes from downtown Columbus and is easily accessible from I-270. New Albany has been recognized for its high median household income, low crime rate, and excellent public school rating, making it an attractive location for the community. Otterbein New Albany is connected to The Green House Project, a not-for-profit organization that challenges the traditional model of nursing home care by creating self-contained houses where elders have private rooms and baths with shared living and outdoor spaces.

Elders at Otterbein New Albany are given the power to choose how they spend their day, from when they get up to what they eat. There are no rigid schedules or strict mealtimes, allowing for independence and individualized care. The small house neighborhoods create a warm and welcoming environment where residents can feel at home and enjoy activities and special occasions with their fellow elders and staff.
