Lakeside Medical Center, located in Pine City, MN, has a rich history dating back to 1887 when Theodore Buselmeier purchased block 40 of Pine City and built a Victorian house overlooking Cross Lake. The property was later used as a brewery before being transformed into Lakeside Memorial Hospital by Dr. E.G. Nethercott in 1937. In 1958, Dr. Erich and Hope Blaufuss took over the hospital and converted it into a nursing home, with Max and Betsy Blaufuss taking over management in 1968.
