Grand Traverse Pavilions has a rich history of providing care for our region's aging population, with a legacy that spans over a century. As one in three individuals in their service area is now over the age of 60, the services offered by Grand Traverse Pavilions have become increasingly crucial. The facility offers 24-hour skilled nursing care and a wide range of therapeutic, recreational, and nutritional services to its 201 long-term care residents. The private and semi-private suites provide handicap-accessible showers, beautiful views of courtyards and terraces, and exquisitely-decorated common areas.
In addition to long-term care, Grand Traverse Pavilions also offers services in The Cottages, which provide independence and assisted living to older adults in a supported living environment. These restored Victorian, Queen Anne, and Italianate homes offer luxurious accommodations that enhance the quality of life for residents. The Wellness Center at Grand Traverse Pavilions takes a holistic approach to client-centered care, focusing on wellness as an attitude and a way of life rather than just fitness. The center features a variety of rehabilitative therapies and health and fitness programs to promote overall well-being.
The facility is owned by Grand Traverse County and operated by the Grand Traverse County Department of Health and Human Services Board. With over 300 residents and 400 employees, Grand Traverse Pavilions' 28-acre campus blends state-of-the-art accommodations with historic architecture. The facility has been fiscally self-sufficient for over two decades and provides millions of dollars in benevolent care to members of the community each year. Grand Traverse Pavilions also offers supervised care for adults who may benefit from enhanced socialization and recreation, as well as adult day and overnight respite services for caregivers who need temporary support.
