Memorial Manor Nursing Home has a rich history dating back to 1972, when it was built adjacent to Memorial Hospital after the closure of Fidelis Nursing Home. The transition of assets from Fidelis to the Hospital Authority was overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors, including individuals like Mrs. H. H. “Liz” Felty and Mrs. J. S. “Audrey” Cliett. The leadership team at the time, which included Herbert Nussbaum and Loreta Coggins Brown, played a crucial role in the establishment and operation of Memorial Manor. Under their guidance, the facility initially had a 67-bed capacity, which later expanded with an addition in 1979, increasing the total bed count to 107.
