    Compassionate attentive staff, excellent care

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased. The staff - CNAs, LVNs, therapists, social worker and DON - are warm, welcoming and treat us like family; they communicate regularly, handle issues professionally, and are attentive to safety and care. My mom is cleaner, more alert and emotionally supported. The exterior and amenities are a bit dated, but the compassionate, reliable team makes this my top choice. Highly recommended.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the submitted reviews of San Marino Manor is strongly positive with consistent praise for the quality of care and the interpersonal qualities of the staff. Reviewers repeatedly describe staff as attentive, caring, compassionate, and welcoming — often noting that staff make residents feel like family. Several reviewers singled out CNAs, LVNs, the Director of Nursing (DON), therapists (PT/OT), the social worker, doctors, and counselors as contributing meaningfully to care. Multiple comments cite improved resident condition (for example, being more alert and kept clean) and ongoing emotional support, indicating both clinical and psychosocial strengths.

Staff behavior, communication, and reliability are major strengths. Families report that staff keep them well informed and address concerns professionally. Words like integrity, sincerity, friendliness, and steadfastness recur across summaries. Reviewers also note that when issues have occurred they have been handled promptly and professionally, which reinforces a sense of safety and trust. Safety measures have been implemented and reviewers explicitly state that residents feel safe in the facility.

Clinical and administrative competence is emphasized as well: competent medical records staff, good nursing leadership, involved therapists, and contributions from doctors and counselors all suggest a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to care. Activities staff are mentioned as engaged, and the social worker’s involvement points to attention to residents psychosocial needs. Several reviewers rated San Marino Manor as the best among the facilities they evaluated and offered strong recommendations.

Physical facilities and amenities are the principal areas of concern. Multiple summaries describe an older or outdated exterior and decor, and reviewers note limited amenities on site. One practical tour-related comment indicated that no photos were posted during tours, pointing to limited visual materials for prospective families. These comments do not reflect on the quality of care but do highlight potential gaps in aesthetic appeal and available services that could matter to some families when choosing a facility.

Notable patterns: reviewers emphasize interpersonal warmth, strong communication, and reliable clinical leadership as primary differentiators for San Marino Manor. There is a repeated theme that problems are not ignored — when issues arise staff address them — which contributes to overall satisfaction. Conversely, the consistent mention of dated decor and limited amenities suggests that the facilitys physical presentation lags behind its clinical and relational strengths.

In summary, San Marino Manor appears to deliver high-quality, compassionate care with strong, communicative staff and competent clinical leadership. The facility is perceived as safe and emotionally supportive, with staff who treat residents like family and handle problems professionally. The main weaknesses identified by reviewers are aesthetic and amenity-related rather than clinical: an older exterior and decor, limited on-site amenities, and limited visual materials during tours. These are the primary areas for improvement to align the facilitys physical presentation with the consistently praised level of care and staff engagement.
