Curtis Center, located in West Allis, is a community-based and person-centered program that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the individuals it serves at Adult Day Services of Southeast Wisconsin, LLC. At Curtis Center, the focus is on providing a wide range of enrichment activities to help participants reach their personal goals. The center offers educational and historical-themed activities, as well as fun trips that encourage social interaction among participants. These activities include arts and crafts, music programs, board games, a book club, Wii games, dancing, exercise classes, and support groups.
In addition to the on-site activities, Curtis Center also organizes visits to various community locations such as the YMCA, Humane Society, Milwaukee County Zoo, museums, parks, and libraries. Participants have the opportunity to engage in nature-based activities like fishing, bike riding, and hiking. The center strives to offer something for everyone, ensuring that individuals can find activities that they enjoy and that meet their interests and abilities.
Curtis Center partners with organizations in the community to provide volunteer opportunities and skill-building experiences for program participants. Partnerships with organizations like Robyn’s Nest, New Threads of Hope, and Urban Ecology help individuals learn valuable skills that can enhance employability and build social networks. Curtis Center also collaborates with Bryant and Stratton College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Program to offer additional support and resources to participants.
