    Gorgeous secure campus; exceptional care

I moved my mom into this brand-new, absolutely beautiful gated campus in Vancouver - the location near the highway, shopping and medical centers is ideal. The staff are professional, friendly and accommodating; care is top-notch with 24-hour nurses, great food, wheelchair-friendly spaces and engaging activities, so the transition was smooth and our family has real peace of mind. Highly recommended - gorgeous, secure, and truly feels like home.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews is strongly positive: families and residents consistently describe The Inn at University Village as a top-tier assisted living community that combines high-quality clinical care with an inviting, resort-like environment. Reviewers emphasize both the human side of care—friendly, compassionate staff, attentive nurses and CNAs, and management that goes the extra mile—and the physical environment: a new, meticulously planned facility with elegant interiors, spacious rooms, and well-maintained grounds. The community is repeatedly framed as a place that brings peace of mind to families: multiple reviewers say their loved ones are happy, well cared for, and socially engaged.

Care quality and staffing are dominant themes. Many reviews cite 24-hour on-site nursing, compassionate and knowledgeable CNAs, and professional administrative support. Specific staff members and leaders (Tashina, Amanda, Chris) receive individual praise for being caring, detail-oriented, and accessible. Families highlight excellent communication from staff and management, frequent updates, and encouragement of family involvement—factors that contribute to trust and satisfaction. The tone suggests a strong culture of teamwork and a family-like atmosphere where staff take ownership of resident well-being.

The facility and amenities receive extensive commendation. Reviewers describe the property as elegant, luxurious, and newly built with awe-inspiring details and thoughtful design for seniors (fully fenced, wheelchair-friendly, gated). Indoor amenities called out include a movie theater, all-day dining options, and attractive common areas; outdoor spaces and the campus setting are also described as breathtaking. Spacious private rooms and a clean, safe environment are repeatedly noted. The location is seen as very convenient—close to highways, shopping centers, Legacy Salmon Creek, and The Vancouver Clinic—making access to additional healthcare services straightforward.

Dining and activities are another area of consistent praise. Meals are described as “top-notch” and delicious, and reviewers appreciate the variety and quality of dining service. Social programming is robust, with daily activities, weekly outings (museums, Broadway shows), and recurring on-site events such as bingo, happy hours, puzzle groups, balance exercise classes, and weekly grocery trips. These offerings are credited with helping new residents build friendships, stay engaged, and not worry about daily tasks like cooking—contributions that reviewers say improve quality of life.

Management, operations, and move-in experience are viewed positively. Multiple accounts mention a seamless transition into the community, helpful and accommodating staff during move-in, and transparent discussions about services and fees. Leadership is described as strong and detail-focused, with an operator identity (Koelsch) referenced positively. The combination of high customer service, attentive staffing, and a well-run program leads many reviewers to highly recommend the community.

Concerns are minimal but present: the primary negative pattern that appears across the summaries is delays related to insurance approval. While this is not framed as a fault of day-to-day care or operations, several reviewers mention the administrative hurdle of insurance processing as a point of friction. No recurrent complaints surfaced about staffing levels, cleanliness, safety, food quality, or activity programming—areas that overwhelmingly receive praise.

In summary, the reviews portray The Inn at University Village as a new, high-end assisted living community that successfully balances clinical competence and safety with a warm, social, and hospitality-oriented resident experience. Families value the peace of mind from 24-hour nursing and responsive staff, while residents benefit from attractive living spaces, rich activities, quality meals, and an engaging social culture. The predominant recommendation from reviewers is strong: this community is well-suited for seniors who want a safe, beautiful, and active assisted living environment with attentive staff and ample amenities; the only notable caveat to plan for is potential insurance approval delays during move-in/financial setup.

About The Inn at University Village Assisted Living Community

The Inn at University Village Assisted Living Community sits on a pleasant tree-lined street in Vancouver, Washington, and you'll find that it offers both modern and traditional design touches for a homelike feel, and the building's gated for extra peace of mind, plus there are advanced safety systems in place that folks seem to appreciate. The staff here have a strong reputation for being compassionate and attentive, and they're known for treating everyone with respect and helping out with daily needs like dressing, bathing, grooming, and especially medication management, which seems to really matter when you're trying to settle in somewhere new.

Residents can choose from several floor plans, and there's a video tour for people who want a sneak peek, and if you ask around you'll hear folks talk about how Chef Darren McGrady curates restaurant-style meals-he used to cook for royalty, so the food's a step above, but of course, there's also care taken to address nutritional needs and special diet plans if that's something you or your loved one needs. Social life gets a focus, too, with group activities, card games in the Club Rooms, movie nights, and a full calendar of outings, whether to local spots like Washington Park, the Oregon Zoo, or just down the street to a café or pharmacy, with transportation provided for both appointments and day trips.

The community is pet-friendly, which many find comforting, and you see a lot of residents chatting on the veranda or joining events in communal areas. There's a licensed nurse on duty at all hours, and personalized care plans help make sure everyone gets support that fits their preferences and health needs. Wellness programs encourage both physical fitness and mental engagement, and for those with cognitive concerns, there are specialized memory care services, with extra safety steps and a familiar setting to ease anxiety. The Inn at University Village also supports those looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and even nursing home services since it's a continuing care retirement community, so care can change as needs evolve, and residents can stay in a familiar place.

The surroundings feel both refined and comfortable, and you can see handicapped accessibility and amenities like Wi-Fi built in throughout. Residents and their families rate the community highly for safety, happiness, and livability, which seems to line up with a focus on delivering a purposeful and supportive place to call home, and being part of the Koelsch Senior Living family helps add a bit of tradition and confidence, since they've been doing this for a while.
