    Compassionate personalized end of life

I placed my mother here for end-of-life care and we felt entirely supported. Daniela and the compassionate, attentive 24/7 staff treated us like family, providing high-quality, personalized care - meals tailored to her, hairstylist services, transportation for visits, and constant comfort that went above and beyond. The facility is spacious, clean, and welcoming with a large yard and walking path, a roomy decked room painted to her liking, and little touches (Diet Coke always stocked) that made it a true home away from home.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The reviews present a consistently positive picture of First Choice Care. Multiple reviewers emphasize high-quality, compassionate care and an environment that feels like a home rather than an institution. The dominant themes are attentive staff, personalized attention, and a supportive, family-like atmosphere. There are no recurring negative comments or specific faults cited in the summaries provided.

Care quality and staff: Reviews repeatedly praise the standard of care and the attentiveness of caregivers. Care is described as excellent, with staff available around the clock (24/7 care) and willing to go above and beyond to comfort residents. Several comments highlight individualized, compassionate attention, including specific mention of a caregiver named Daniela who helped meet all needs. End-of-life care is singled out as particularly compassionate, indicating staff are comfortable and experienced with sensitive care situations. Families describe staff as empathetic and supportive, and multiple reviewers explicitly praise the providers and ownership for their responsiveness.

Facilities and environment: The physical setting receives strong positive remarks. The facility is characterized as spacious, attractive, and comfortable, with large rooms that include private decks. Reviewers note that rooms can be customized to resident preferences (for example, room color), which supports a personalized, home-like environment. Outdoor amenities are highlighted: a large, well-kept yard with a walking path provides opportunities for fresh-air activity and safe exercise. Cleanliness and a welcoming, happy atmosphere are also emphasized across reviews.

Services, dining, and extras: Reviewers describe several value-added services that enhance resident quality of life. Meals are personalized to resident needs and preferences, and on-site services such as a hairstylist are available. Practical conveniences are noted—transportation is arranged for visits, and small comforts are provided (a specific example is Diet Coke being always stocked and not charged). These details reinforce the sense that staff attend to both medical and personal quality-of-life needs.

Management and communication: Ownership and management receive positive mention for being empathetic and involved. Reviewers indicate that management supports staff in meeting family and resident needs and that communication and coordination (for appointments, transportation, end-of-life planning) are effective. The presence of engaged leadership appears to contribute to the facility’s supportive culture.

Patterns and caveats: The reviews consistently focus on strengths: personalized care, compassionate staff, comfortable facilities, and helpful ancillary services. Because the provided summaries contain overwhelmingly positive comments with no explicit criticisms, there are no identifiable recurring concerns in this dataset. That uniform positivity could indicate genuinely high satisfaction, but it may also reflect a selection of particularly favorable reviews. Based solely on the content provided, First Choice Care is portrayed as a clean, caring, and family-oriented senior care facility with strong staff engagement, good amenities, and services that address both clinical and personal needs.

Each community provides personal services, and the staff focuses on helping residents with daily living needs and showing genuine love, making sure elders get assistance with things like dressing, grooming, bathing, walking, and medication support, and folks with memory concerns or Parkinson's can find specialized care too. The facilities also offer skilled nursing, therapy, and rehabilitation services, and there's always a licensed nurse and staff on-site all day and night, so family members know someone's there if a loved one needs help at any time.

First Choice Care has a variety of room options-studio, single, two-bedroom, semi-private, or private rooms, and each has safety features, sprinklers, washers, dryers, and kitchenettes, and some units permit pets. Amenities include a wellness center, monthly check-ups by a doctor, library, fitness section, dedicated movie viewing area, therapy room, outdoor porches, and even a game or activities room, and there's a restaurant-style dining room and a community kitchen for shared meals. Residents and their families enjoy planned birthday parties, holiday get-togethers, and open visiting hours, while services include transportation for appointments or moving, housecleaning, laundry, and support for folks who need wheelchairs. On-site there's security 24/7 and a hair salon, and people can take part in social activities, arts and crafts, educational programs, and health classes.

First Choice Care offers both short-term respite care and long-term stays, along with hospice and home care options for those who wish to remain at home, and units have a capacity of about six people each. These facilities partner with AO Preferred Partners and Senior Specials programs and are part of King County's licensed assisted living community network, also providing access to resources such as meal delivery, transportation, doctor visits, legal help, and medical supplies. Staff at First Choice Care encourages families to ask about discharge planning, waiting lists, staffing, healthcare services, and financing options, including Medicare and Medicaid, and they help with detailed care plans and explain billing procedures when you tour or meet virtually. Each location has a section with details, business hours, and reviews, though there are currently no reviews or awards listed, but people can schedule tours, use the connect function for an initial consultation, or read up on differences between types of care through the "Caregiver Tips" section.

First Choice Care operates senior apartments and retirement communities mostly in the 98030 and 98031 zip codes in Kent, WA, and though the business listing hasn't been claimed, hours run from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm every day; their focus stays on honest, supportive assisted living and long-term care for older adults, making sure people have the comfort, safety, and daily support they need as they age.
