Windsor Senior Living in Virginia recently closed its doors, leaving behind a 27,400-square-foot building on a 2.2-acre parcel in the Museum District. The facility, operated by WellQuest Living, was in need of repairs that couldn't be completed with residents still in the building. As a result, all residents were discharged to allow for much-needed renovations to take place. It is unclear when the facility will reopen, as there is no target date set at this time.
JF Capital, the owner of the property, is now entertaining offers for the site, which was most recently assessed at $3.6 million. The building, which had operated as an assisted living facility for many years, offered memory care and assisted living services to residents. WellQuest Living operates senior living facilities in California and Nevada, but the CEO, Steve Sandholtz, was not available for comment.
The 66-year-old building sits near the intersection of Grove Avenue and North Thompson Street, just north of another parcel that changed hands recently. Doswell Ventures, tied to local HVAC firm Woodfin, purchased a nearby property with plans for a Residence Inn. The location of Windsor Senior Living in the Museum District is considered prime real estate, with some hoping for a boutique hotel to take its place. However, the future of the property remains uncertain as offers are being considered for its sale.
