Nixon Assisted Living of Houston was founded in 2004 by Debora Nixon, RN, who identified a need within the community for individuals who required assistance in daily living activities but were not yet in need of skilled nursing care. With a mission to provide a "Home Away from Home" for residents, Nixon Assisted Living offers a caring touch and treats residents like family. The facility is a for-profit licensed ten-bed, type B facility that prides itself on providing skilled personal care to help clients with dressing, eating, grooming, bathing, toileting, and medication administration.
In addition to personal care services, Nixon Assisted Living also offers physical rehabilitative services, including motion and movement exercises, to help residents maintain or improve their physical well-being. The facility hosts a monthly Bible Study for spiritual growth and onsite physician visits to ensure the health and well-being of residents. Nixon Assisted Living also provides free Adult Day care, designed to promote socialization and mental and emotional stimulation among clients. Field trips are also organized regularly, offering residents the opportunity to engage in various activities such as bowling, movies, and more.
For families with loved ones requiring special care, Nixon Assisted Living is seen as a nurturing and supportive environment where residents are encouraged to thrive and maximize their potential for a quality life. The facility is focused on creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that fosters a sense of love and belonging. With a commitment to providing personalized care and attention to each resident, Nixon Assisted Living aims to create a comfortable and safe environment where residents feel at home.
