    Loving community but limited care

I had my mother here for almost six years. The family-run staff were loving, attentive and skilled - they knew residents by name, kept the place clean, fed everyone well, and created a safe, active, social community where people seemed healthier and happier. My only major issue: they refused extra care and outside help for cost reasons, which eventually forced us to move her to a state facility - otherwise I'd highly recommend it for long-term stays.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Homes is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on the quality of interpersonal care and the community atmosphere. Reviewers consistently describe the staff as warm, loving, caring, genuine, skilled and dedicated. Multiple summaries note that staff learn residents' names and provide attentive, kind interactions, which contributes to a sense of individualized care. Several reviewers explicitly state that residents are healthier, happier, safer, more active, and more social since moving in, and some cite stable health and long-term stays (including nearly six years of residence) as evidence of satisfaction.

Staff and care quality emerge as the most prominent strengths. The facility is described repeatedly as having great, friendly staff and continuity of care even in the face of staff turnover. A family-run structure is mentioned and appears to contribute to a personal, welcoming environment. Reviewers highlight that caregivers are skilled and dedicated, and there are specific comments about attentive care that supports an active lifestyle for residents. Where tenure is noted, it suggests that some staff or residents remain for many years, reinforcing perceptions of reliability and consistent care.

Facility condition and daily life are mixed but generally positive. Many reviewers call the home beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and welcoming, and they report clean surroundings and well-fed meals. Activities and social engagement are strong points: residents are described as more active and social, with high levels of engagement and satisfaction. The environment is frequently characterized as safe, contributing to family confidence in long-term placement. Dining receives favorable mentions as residents are described as well-fed, which ties into the broader sense of stable, healthy living.

However, notable concerns appear across a subset of summaries that temper the overall positive view. Several reviews report situations where staff or management refused to provide extra care or declined outside assistance, with the reason given as cost-related. These instances created a perception of money-driven decision making and led, in at least one case, to a family moving their relative to a state facility. Though many reviewers praise continuity of care, comments about staff turnover do appear, indicating that staffing stability may vary by time or unit.

Physical plant remarks are also mixed: while some reviewers call the home beautiful and welcoming, others describe it as dated or old-fashioned—more akin to a traditional nursing home in appearance. This suggests that while the social and caregiving aspects are strong, the building and décor may be older and might not meet expectations for modern facility aesthetics. Prospective families should weigh the trade-off between the quality of interpersonal care and the physical condition of the facility.

In summary, Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Homes receives high marks for compassionate, personalized caregiving, a family-run culture, strong social and activity programming, cleanliness, and satisfying meals. These strengths lead to healthier, happier, and safer residents according to reviewers, and many highly recommend the home. The primary caveats are occasional decisions perceived as cost-driven that limit extra care or outside assistance, some staff turnover (offset in part by continuity of care), and an older, dated facility appearance. Prospective residents and families should focus on confirming the level of medical and supplemental care available for their needs and discuss cost and care limits upfront, while feeling reassured that the caregiving culture and community life are frequently praised by current and former families.
