Hilty Home, operated by the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, has been providing skilled nursing and assisted living services in Pandora since 1979. Unfortunately, due to ongoing financial, census, and workforce challenges, the decision has been made to close these services by the end of the year. The closure does not affect the Hilty Pre-school and Childcare or Independent Living services, which will continue to be operated at the same location.
The decision to close the skilled nursing and assisted living services at Hilty Home was made after much thoughtful consideration, conversation, and prayer by the MHCO Board of Directors. Despite the difficult decision, the board remains committed to the well-being of the staff, residents, and families who have been part of the Hilty Home community. As the services wind down, the values of integrity and relationship through care will guide the transition process for residents and employees.
MHCO plans to offer all employees at Hilty Home a position at their facilities in Bluffton. Residents will also have the opportunity to move to another MHCO campus, with a dedicated transition team available to assist in finding appropriate placement if needed. The organization remains committed to providing exceptional services to Allen and Putnam counties, as well as the surrounding areas, through their campuses at Mennonite Memorial Home, Willow Ridge, and Maple Crest in Bluffton.
Despite the closure of the skilled nursing and assisted living services, the legacy of excellent and loving care provided at Hilty Home will continue to be honored. The commitment to integrity, compassionate care, and excellence will carry on in the services offered at the remaining programs at the Hilty location. MHCO's dedication to serving the community with care and respect remains steadfast as they navigate this transition period.
