About Phoenix Service

Phoenix Service is a non-profit organization that was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1974 by Margaret Ludden, a parent of a son with disabilities. The organization is dedicated to providing quality living experiences for adults with disabilities in a person-centered approach. The goal of Phoenix Service is to support individuals in residential and nonresidential settings, helping them to reach their full potential and live fulfilling lives.

Over the years, Phoenix Service has grown and expanded its services to support individuals with disabilities in a variety of living arrangements in the Twin Cities area. Most of their residential homes are located in the east metro area, including Ramsey, Washington, and Dakota counties. The organization offers individualized supports tailored to the specific needs of each person within their home and community, allowing individuals to be self-directed in all activities of daily living.

One of the core focuses of Phoenix Service is the recruitment and retention of quality Direct Support Professionals who play a crucial role in carrying out the organization's mission each day. Due to staffing shortages and changes in Medicaid funding, Phoenix Service relies on contributions and fundraising efforts to supplement competitive salaries and benefits for their care team. By supporting and donating to Phoenix Service, individuals can help ensure that individuals with disabilities receive the care and support they need to thrive.

The Phoenix Residence, Inc. and its sister corporation, Phoenix Service Corporation, work together to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for individuals with disabilities. The organization is dedicated to helping individuals soar beyond possibilities, providing a home where they can feel safe, supported, and cared for. Through a person-centered approach and individualized supports, Phoenix Service strives to empower individuals with disabilities to live their best lives and be active members of their community.
