    Homey, well-maintained facility; minor issues

I love the warm, caring staff and the homey, well-maintained facility - everything is very clean and the team is friendly, attentive, and hardworking. The grounds are beautiful with a bird sanctuary and outdoor walking areas, the dining room feels like a restaurant with varied meals and snacks, and there are plenty of activities (music, exercise, games, concerts, outings) that include both assisted living and memory care residents. Rooms range from small studios to spacious one-bedrooms with full kitchens and private baths; it's a lovely, convenient place but a bit pricey, and staffing/medication coordination can occasionally be a minor issue.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Meridian Manor is strongly positive, with consistent praise for the quality of interpersonal care, the warmth of staff, the facility’s atmosphere, and the breadth of programming. Reviewers repeatedly highlight staff as a primary strength — described as loving, friendly, attentive, client-focused, and well trained. Several comments emphasize that staff meet residents’ needs with compassion and respect, creating a welcoming, home-like environment that reviewers associate with warmth and feeling at home. The facility’s progressive and innovative approach to health and well-being and emphasis on community integration are also noted as distinguishing elements.

Care quality and staffing: Most reviews reflect confidence in daily caregiving and an attentive workforce. Multiple summaries specifically mention improved staffing and hardworking teams. At the same time, a recurring caveat appears: while staffing has improved, several reviewers still feel that additional staff would help ensure consistently smooth operations—this is particularly relevant to medication coordination, which a few reviews flagged as a challenge. Overall, the dominant message is that staff are caring and capable, but prospective residents and families should ask direct questions about current staffing levels and medication management processes during a visit.

Facilities and accommodations: Meridian Manor’s physical setting and unit offerings receive strong praise. The property’s grounds (including a bird sanctuary and pleasant outdoor walking areas) and the country/Wayzata setting are repeatedly described as beautiful and calming. Units range from studio-like spaces to larger one-bedroom apartments with full kitchens (stove, refrigerator, microwave, pantry), living rooms, walk-in showers, and closets. Reviewers appreciate the ability for some residents to continue cooking and the privacy of individual bathrooms with shower seats. Cleanliness and maintenance are emphasized across reviews, with many noting that the facility is very clean and well maintained. That said, a few comments point out that some rooms are small and certain bathrooms could be larger—these are practical layout considerations for those comparing unit sizes.

Dining and activities: Dining is a consistently highlighted strength. Reviewers describe the dining room as “restaurant-like,” praising multiple entrées, a la carte options, snacks throughout the day, improved menu variety, and small touches like tablecloths and linens. Several reviewers noted that residents enjoy the food and that meal service is a social focal point. Programming and social engagement are robust: exercise classes, music programs, Friday concerts, bingo, trivia, daily social hour (often at 3 p.m.), games, and organized day trips are commonly mentioned. These offerings support an active social life and a variety of engagement opportunities for residents at different ability levels, including activities that bridge memory care and assisted living populations.

Community character and management: The community is repeatedly described as small, cozy, and home-like, with reviewers appreciating the welcoming, family-style atmosphere. Comments referencing a caring culture, warmth, and respect suggest management has fostered a resident-centered environment. The characterization of Meridian Manor as progressive and community-integrated implies that leadership is attentive to evolving models of senior care and resident well-being.

Concerns and patterns to note: While overwhelmingly positive, the reviews surface a few consistent concerns. Medication coordination surfaced as an operational issue in some summaries and deserves attention during a prospective tour. Staffing — although improved according to several reviewers — remains an area where additional resources would be beneficial, especially during peak activity and care times. Physical-space limitations (smaller rooms and bathrooms in some units) may matter for those requiring more space or accessibility accommodations. Finally, cost was mentioned as a drawback by some reviewers; Meridian Manor may be perceived as expensive relative to alternatives, so clarity about pricing, included services, and any additional fees is important.

Conclusion: In sum, Meridian Manor comes across as a well-maintained, welcoming community with strong dining, a wide range of activities, beautiful grounds, and an empathetic, capable staff. The dominant themes are warmth, cleanliness, varied social and enrichment programming, and homelike living options—especially for residents who value community engagement and the ability to continue cooking or use larger one-bedroom units. Prospective residents and families should prioritize questions about current staffing ratios, medication coordination procedures, unit sizes and accessibility, and cost structure when considering Meridian Manor, but the overall review pattern indicates a high level of resident satisfaction and a supportive community environment.

    About Meridian Manor

Meridian Manor in Wayzata offers a variety of living choices for seniors, including assisted living, memory care, care suites, and independent living, so residents can get support that fits their needs as they change, and the environment feels comfortable and home-like with custom-built apartments that come in studio, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom options, many with features like secured courtyards and walking paths outside, plus indoor spaces such as a sun porch, fireplaces, library, TV lounge, billiards area, movie room, and music rooms for social or quiet time, and there's a high pointe dining facility where residents get chef-prepared meals three times daily with meals for special diets like vegetarian, low sodium, or gluten-free, and there's room service or concierge available if someone wants more convenience. Residents can join in different activities, like social clubs, arts and crafts, gardening, musical groups, daily exercise, reading, bridge, bingo, movie nights, or outings to shops, restaurants, or cultural events, as well as special programs like AA meetings, a senior issues group, or religious services for both Protestant and Catholic faiths, and there's a full calendar of educational and recreational activities Monday through Friday and sometimes on weekends too, with things like a monthly veterans breakfast, social hours, seasonal parties, and boat trips, so people can stay active and connected. Staff is available 24 hours a day and there are nurses onsite at all times, along with visiting doctors, physical, occupational, and speech therapists, and a range of care levels from light to heavy depending on what someone needs and supports like medication administration, help with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and special care for those with memory loss through the Heartfelt CONNECTIONS™ program and dementia services, with special technology like emergency pendants and bracelets to prevent wandering. Safety features include secured grounds, a 24-hour emergency pendant system, accessible rooms and showers, mechanical lifts for residents who need help moving, and helps for incontinence and diabetes care with insulin management, all in a place licensed by the state. There's a beauty salon, onsite barber shop, pharmacy, in-house laundry, housekeeping, dry cleaning, and an onsite convenience store, plus weekly linen services, so daily chores don't have to be a worry, while a guest suite is available for visitors or for short stays, and transportation services run for local appointments or outings, with complimentary rides and an option to use the nearby bus lines. The setting is friendly and family-like, with indoor and outdoor spots for gathering or quiet rest, raised garden beds for those who enjoy digging in the dirt, and both staff and residents try to make everyone feel welcome, whether joining a group for exercise, a meal, or just talking by the fire in a common room. Meridian Manor accepts private payments, veteran's benefits, and private insurance, and simple published fees include a community fee, care fees depending on need, respite and second person rates. There's a focus on personal choices, individual care plans, and making sure people feel respected and cared for no matter what support they come to need, and that's helped this community earn awards like Best of Senior Living and All-Star, though current city reviews may mean changes as Meridian Manor is being replaced by a new memory care project called Moments of Wayzata, with updated plans and approval processes underway, which means things may look a little different in the future but the goal remains supportive, comfortable care for older adults in this part of town.
