    Homey facility, outstanding TBI care

I placed my daughter here for traumatic brain injury rehab and I'm thrilled with the results. The caring, family-like staff - especially Tammy, OT Matt Bass and PT Kristina - gave attentive, respectful care; she progressed to walking and moved to outpatient smoothly. The owner (an RN) and well-trained team run a homey, well-maintained place with spacious private rooms, home-cooked meals and on-site therapies. Peace of mind - I highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: The review summaries portray Deer Run Rehabilitation as a small, well-regarded rehabilitation and long-term care provider with consistently positive feedback from residents and family members. The dominant themes are high-quality, individualized clinical care (particularly for traumatic brain injury), a warm, home-like atmosphere, and a staff culture described as caring, respectful, and family-oriented. Multiple reviewers explicitly recommend the facility and credit staff and management with producing tangible recovery progress and peace of mind for families.

Care quality and therapies: Reviewers repeatedly highlight Deer Run's clinical strengths, especially its focus on traumatic brain injury rehabilitation and on-site therapy services. Several reviewers note strong engagement from therapists and measurable outcomes—for example, a resident progressing to walking and then transitioning to an outpatient program. Individual clinicians are called out by name (Occupational Therapist Matt Bass and Physical Therapist Kristina) for being attentive and instrumental in recovery. The presence of an owner who is an RN with expertise is mentioned as a positive factor in clinical oversight and confidence in care.

Staff, culture, and management: The staffing and culture at Deer Run receive overwhelmingly positive mentions. Reviewers use terms like caring, attentive, respectful, family-like, and outstanding when describing the team. Management is described as wonderful and supportive of both residents and staff; reviewers state that this leadership makes a difference in people's lives and contributes to a reassuring environment. Specific staff members (for example, Tammy) are noted for going beyond basic duties by providing phone numbers, resources, and extra help. Multiple family members describe feeling more at ease after their loved ones moved in, saying the transition was smooth and that staff treated residents like family.

Facilities, environment, and dining: Deer Run is characterized as homey and welcoming, with a well-maintained interior and spacious private rooms. Several reviewers mention that the facility was newly updated after a past flood, indicating recent improvements. Dining is positively described as home-cooked meals, contributing to the home-like feel. The combination of comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and on-site therapies supports reviewers’ sense of peace of mind and satisfaction.

Reputation and outcomes: Reviewers emphasize Deer Run's longstanding positive reputation since opening. Many comments come from family members reporting improved mood and function in their loved ones (for example, a daughter being happier and smiling). The facility is described as making a real difference in residents’ lives, with staff training and management practices contributing to consistent, favorable outcomes. Several reviews explicitly state strong recommendations and satisfaction with the decision to place a loved one at Deer Run.

Notable concerns and patterns: Negative content in the provided summaries is minimal and limited to two recurring mentions: (1) references to negative reviews from ex-employees, and (2) a past flood that required facility updates. The flood is described in the past tense and reviewers note the facility is newly updated, suggesting the issue has been addressed. The mention of ex-employee complaints appears to be an external note rather than a dominant theme in resident/family feedback; however, it is the only recurring negative element in these summaries.

Conclusion: Based on the supplied summaries, Deer Run Rehabilitation appears to be a small, resident-centered facility with particular strength in traumatic brain injury rehab, skilled on-site therapy services, and a warm, family-like culture. The combination of clinical expertise (including an RN owner), attentive named therapists, thoughtful management, and a comfortable facility contribute to strong family satisfaction and positive outcomes. The only notable reservations in the aggregated summaries relate to past facility flooding (now updated) and mentions of ex-employee negative reviews; otherwise the reviews are uniformly favorable and highly recommend the facility.
