    Beautiful, pristine facility; caring staff

I live here and highly recommend it. Beautiful, pristine facility with a nicely furnished room (shared bathroom). Staff are caring and compassionate—very family-like. Activities are few—game room downstairs and occasional outings with limited engagement.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these review summaries is strongly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing the facility's appearance and the quality of staff. The dominant themes are that Brentwood Manor is a beautiful, clean, and well-furnished facility where many residents and families feel cared for and comfortable. Several reviewers explicitly recommend the community, and words like "pristine," "beautiful," "caring," and "compassionate" are used to describe the environment and caregiving.

Care quality and staff are among the most consistently praised aspects. Summaries mention caring and compassionate staff and a family atmosphere, suggesting that interactions with caregivers are warm and supportive. This consistent positive mention points to a high level of resident satisfaction with personal care and the interpersonal environment created by staff.

Facilities and cleanliness receive repeated positive comments. Reviewers note that the building and rooms are nicely furnished and kept in excellent condition. The overall look and upkeep contribute to the impression of a well-managed physical environment. There is, however, a specific facility-related concern: some reviews mention shared bathrooms. For some reviewers the shared-bathroom arrangement detracts from the sense of being "homey," indicating that while the facility is attractive and clean, certain practical aspects of room layout or bathroom privacy may not meet every resident's preferences.

Activities and engagement are an area with mixed or weaker feedback. Several summaries point out that there are relatively few activities, though there is an on-site game room and organized outings. The outings are noted as existing but with "limited engagement," implying that while opportunities to leave the facility are available, they may not be frequent, deeply engaging, or well-attended. This suggests a potential gap between the quality of the physical environment and the breadth or vitality of the social/engagement programming.

Dining and management receive little direct mention in the provided summaries. Because reviewers did not specifically comment on meals or administrative responsiveness, no strong conclusions can be drawn about those areas from these summaries alone. The repeated reference to a "family atmosphere" can be interpreted as a positive sign about the community culture and possibly management priorities, but it is not an explicit assessment of administrative practices.

Notable patterns: reviewers overwhelmingly praise aesthetics, cleanliness, and staff compassion, and multiple mentions of "highly recommend" indicate strong overall satisfaction. The main recurring concerns are limited activity offerings and engagement, plus the shared bathroom situation that causes some to feel the environment is less homey despite otherwise home-like descriptions. These points indicate a consistent overall strength in physical upkeep and caregiving, with opportunities to enhance resident life through expanded activities, more engaging outings, and potentially addressing bathroom privacy or room configuration to strengthen the home-like feel for those who find it lacking.

    About Brentwood Manor Assisted Living

Brentwood Manor Assisted Living sits in Waldorf, Maryland, and has a quiet, home-style feel with only 5 beds, offering residents and their families a smaller, focused setting. The building covers over 5,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, so there's room for everyone to settle in. Residents can choose private or semi-private bedrooms, and accommodations range from studios to shared suites, all furnished and prepared for comfort, some with adjustable beds. Residents have cable TV, Wi-Fi, high-speed internet, air conditioning, and private baths, and the rooms have bathtubs and storage space. The common spaces are spacious and include a formal dining room, living room, large family room, sunroom, a resident dining hall, movie room, games room, fitness area, library, and both indoor and outdoor patios, along with a secure recreation floor designed for activities and visits with loved ones.

Meals are provided daily, with restaurant-style dining and special diets, including vegetarian options, handled by staff and in consultation with a dietitian, and the menus are easy to read. Meals can be enjoyed either in the dining area or outdoors, weather permitting. Housekeeping, linen, laundry, and pharmacy services are included, and there's staff on-call at all hours. Brentwood Manor gives personal care like help with dressing, bathing, showering, transfers, incontinence, and other daily needs. Medication management, health monitoring, regular doctor visits, fall prevention classes, physical therapy, and help for those with memory issues, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's are all available. Hospice, respite care, and short-term stays are options as well.

Activities are a key part of daily life here, so residents can join in stretching, dancing, painting, arts and crafts, trivia, gospel singing, Bible study, social games, puzzles, gardening, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and more, with help from trained staff. Residents can enjoy walks in the garden or outdoor courtyard, and there are regular community activities to meet friends. There's a focus on encouraging independence while giving the right level of support, including help with getting in and out of bed and feeding by spoon if needed.

The secure environment includes a 24-hour camera system, audible door alerts, monitored alarm systems, carbon monoxide sensors, and an indoor intercom/radio throughout the home and on the deck, all backed by a nationally recognized security company and frequent fire and police patrols for peace of mind. A "People Mover" helps get around, and scheduled transportation is available for an added cost, along with resident parking and easy public transit options.

The staff includes nursing professionals and caregivers with decades of experience, and they work to create a supportive, friendly place. Families often mention kind care in their reviews, which has led to a high 5.0-star rating for the facility. Brentwood Manor can make arrangements for individual care plans and custom needs assessment, adjusting services for each person while keeping independence in mind. The warmth and security of a smaller assisted living home, combined with many services, activities, and trusted staff, have made it a well-regarded option in Charles County for seniors and their families looking for assistance with daily life while keeping as much independence as possible.
