    Small caring affordable but limited

I lived here and the staff were amazing and very responsive - residents get good care. The home is small and a bit cramped, food is bland and activities are limited, though there's a beauty shop and weekly laundry. It's peaceful and affordable (they accept Medicaid, but expect funding delays); fine for limited needs, but not what I was looking for.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews of Peaceful Life Assisted Living is mixed but leans positive around core caregiving and staff qualities. Multiple reviewers specifically praise the staff as friendly, amazing, and attentive, and several comments emphasize that residents are well taken care of. Communication from staff or management is described as responsive, which supports a perception of reliability in day-to-day matters. For people prioritizing basic personal care, a calm environment, and affordability, the facility appears to meet expectations.

Care quality and staff: The most consistent positive theme is the quality of hands-on care and the attitude of the staff. Several summaries use strong positive language ("wonderful home for seniors," "amazing staff," "well taken care of") and direct recommendations. This suggests that caregivers are compassionate and competent, and that families often feel comfortable leaving loved ones there. The responsive communication noted in multiple summaries reinforces that staff and management are reachable and responsive when questions or concerns arise.

Facilities and atmosphere: Reviewers describe the setting as peaceful and small, contributing to a home-like atmosphere. That small scale is both a pro and a con: it can foster a cozy, intimate environment and more personalized attention, but it is also repeatedly described as cramped and limited in space. Several reviewers flagged the facility's size as a drawback, implying restricted common areas and potential limitations for mobility or privacy. The overall characterization — "passable," "not remarkable," or "acceptable" — indicates the physical plant is adequate but not especially modern or roomy.

Dining and activities: A clear recurring concern is dining and programming. Food is described as bland, and there is an explicit complaint about a lack of activities. These points indicate limited culinary appeal and few social or recreational offerings, which may affect residents' day-to-day quality of life beyond basic care. On the positive side, some on-site services such as a beauty shop and weekly laundry are available, providing useful conveniences even if broader enrichment programming is sparse.

Management and administrative issues: While communication responsiveness is highlighted positively, reviewers also report administrative friction, most notably delays in Medicaid funding. That pattern suggests the facility may work with Medicaid but experiences processing or billing delays that can create stress for families relying on that funding stream. Additionally, a few reviews are vague in their criticism — stating "not recommended" or making unspecific complaints — which makes it hard to evaluate the severity or nature of all negative feedback. Still, the presence of explicit administrative concerns (Medicaid delays) is significant and merits attention for prospective residents who depend on public funding.

Suitability and patterns: Taken together, the reviews portray Peaceful Life Assisted Living as a modest, affordable option that excels in personal attention and a peaceful atmosphere but falls short in amenities, dining, and activity programming. It appears well suited for seniors and families who prioritize compassionate caregiving, affordability, and a small, home-like environment. It is less appropriate for those seeking robust social programming, higher-end dining, spacious facilities, or a standout overall experience. The mixed nature of recommendations — some enthusiastic endorsements versus some vague or negative impressions — suggests that individual expectations and priorities will strongly influence satisfaction.

    About Peaceful Life Assisted Living

Peaceful Life Assisted Living sits in a quiet neighborhood in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, east of Interstate 95, on a tree-lined street close to parks and green spaces, and you'll find that they focus on small-scale, personal care with space for only five residents at a time, so everyone gets more attention from the friendly staff and licensed nurses who are available around the clock, especially for those needing extra help or dealing with memory issues like Alzheimer's, since there's a secure, locked perimeter and indoor common areas for safety. Residents stay in private rooms with their own bathrooms and bathtubs, and enjoy homemade meals three times a day, with options for vegetarian diets and any special dietary needs, which means everyone gets food that suits them, and there's help with medication management, diabetic care, incontinence, and many high-acuity needs, plus the staff offers dignified help with daily activities so residents can feel comfortable and respected. There are indoor and outdoor common areas with cozy living spaces where folks can mingle, relax, or join in on social, educational, and recreational activities, and there's a nurse on call to help keep everyone active, including organized outings to nearby parks, on-site beauty and barber services, and devotional services for those who want them, so the sense of community is strong and there's always something to do. If anyone needs more specialized care like hospice or respite, or services from visiting healthcare providers such as podiatrists, physical therapists, or speech therapists, those are available, along with memory care environments and support for residents with a lack of awareness. The home's wheelchair accessible with private and public spaces being smoke-free, and there's parking for residents, as well as complimentary transportation for folks who no longer drive, and pets are allowed, which is nice for those who want to bring a furry friend. When families and friends want to be involved, the system lets them help choose providers and share care preferences, and there's a simple, private way to browse options without having personal information sold or shared, plus you can reach providers directly by phone or contact forms for a more open and honest connection. Tours can be scheduled to meet with staff and other residents to see the place for yourself, and the entire community feels welcoming, peaceful, and supportive, with everything run in a way that keeps things clear, straightforward, and comfortable for seniors and their loved ones.
