Friendship House, a 56-unit, 2-story building located within Royal Oaks Lifecare Community, was designed to cater to the needs of memory support residents in a more intimate and residential-style living environment. The previous memory support services were integrated into the existing Health Care Center, which offered skilled nursing and long-term care services. However, it was discovered that residents would respond better to a new environment that focused on their everyday activities, dining, and living spaces. As a result, Friendship House was created to provide a more suitable and engaging living space for memory support residents.
The building features 4 neighborhoods, each with 14 private rooms, wrapped around a centrally located common space that includes a living room, activities room, and dining area. Additionally, Friendship House offers amenities such as a spa, salon, and bathing room for the residents' comfort and well-being. Outdoor therapy gardens provide secure recreational spaces for the residents to enjoy, promoting both physical and mental health.
In today's senior living landscape, individuals and their families are seeking more diverse and customized options for care and living arrangements. Friendship House seeks to meet these evolving needs by offering a high level of care in a comfortable and homelike setting. Seniors are looking for access to technology, alternative health and wellness programs, and spaces where they can age in place with the support of their families. Friendship House aims to provide all of these elements in a unique and innovative way to enrich the health and well-being of its residents.
With its thoughtful design and focus on individualized care, Friendship House stands out as a leader in senior living communities and specialized healthcare facilities. By redefining the concept of "senior living" and providing a range of services and amenities to support residents' needs, Friendship House creates a warm and inviting environment where residents can thrive and families can feel confident in the care and support their loved ones receive.
